Cranio – Sacral Bowen Therapy is a subtle and profound healing form. Gentle palpation of the skull allows the therapist to facilitate change in areas of restriction.
Around the turn of the last century intrinsic movements of the bones of the skull were discovered by Dr William Sutherland, an American osteopath. His further research revealed different rhythmic tidal motions in the body. It became apparent that these movements are linked with not only the physical health but also mental and emotional wellbeing.
The Cranio – Sacral system is another physiological system within the body working in conjunction with other body systems. Together with the respiratory and cardio – vascular systems it forms one of the three primary life systems. It consists of membranes, fluids, bones and fascia which are found throughout the body.
